January 27th the Earth Week group hosted an Environmental Expo. The goal of the expo was help students become acquainted with environmental RSO's, local organization and majors/ departments focused on the environment and environmental issues. Participating RSO's included ActGreen, SSC, USGBC Students, The Wildlife Society, Franciscan Earth Corps, Bikeface, The Green Observer and SECS.
February 6th members of SECS joined the SECS president, Drew, at his home for a potluck and craft night. Participants enjoyed a night of screen printing, button making and food!
Lastly, on Friday, February 13th, UIUC Beyond Coal held an event called "Breaking Up with Coal" as a way to celebrate Global Divestment Day. The event had hot chocolate, valentines day cards, and a comic about breaking up with coal. You can read more about the event here.
Our next general meeting is Wednesday, February 18th at the University YMCA starting at 6:30pm
